The Japanese IMS programme involves demonstrators relating to the shipbuilding and other industrial sectors. The aims are to develop software solutions for improved cost estimation and scheduling for shipbuilding and work planning and evaluation.
Project IRMA was approved as an Intelligent Manufacturing Systems(IMS) project in May 2000 – IMS Project 97007.
Project IRMA was submitted to the EC under Framework 5, Growth Programme, and, after approval and contract negotiations, commenced on 1 March 2000.
